A presentation by Apatit, part of PhosAgro Group, was held in the conference hall of the Mining University. Representatives of the company, which mines and enriches apatite-nepheline ores at the Khibiny deposits, told senior students about its development plans, social policy, and career prospects for young specialists.

Among the university’s partners interested in creating a talent pool of university graduates are such companies as Gazprom Neft, Rosneft, Titan, Russian Copper Company, Norilsk Nickel, BP, and many others. Several times a year their top managers traditionally hold a recruiting session at the country's oldest technical college.

As PhosAgro CEO Andrei Guriev recently noted, “ Mining University is the main source of personnel for the company" that he heads. About 70% of its management and engineering staff earned their degrees here.

The stability of the holding company is largely based on the vertically integrated “school-higher education-enterprise” training system. For example, in the Vologda, Saratov, Leningrad, and Murmansk regions, specialized “PhosAgro classes” have been opened in general education schools for in-depth study of the subjects required for higher education. Most of their graduates go on to St. Petersburg Mining University and, after graduation, return to work at the company’s production facilities, including its flagship Kirov branch of AO Apatit.

Other university students often followed their example. Moreover, the first acquaintance with the Group often takes place at such presentations, where you can not only get general information, but also get an answer to a specific question, and then fill out a questionnaire for a summer internship.
