The exhibition ”Dmitri Mendeleev and St. Petersburg Mining University” was opened at the Mining Museum. It commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Periodic Law, which was formulated by the Russian scientist. It is as well dedicated to the establishment of the International Competence Centre for Mining-Engineering Education under the auspices of UNESCO.

Mining University opened a virtual exhibition commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Victory.

The exhibition dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory, which St. Petersburg Mining University opened this May, was expanded.

St. Petersburg Mining University specialists carried out a comprehensive no-contact geophysical survey within the territory of Freilinsky Garden, as a result of which a massive metal object was found in the ground. There is every reason to believe that this is a bronze sculpture, which the museum-park lost during the Great Patriotic War.

The first exhibition of the painting ”Moonlit Night on the Dnieper” took place 140 years ago. As is known, when creating the picture, the artist used special paints based on pigments from the collection of the oldest technical university in Russia.

Based on it, a new type of battery surpassing modern lithium-ion batteries both in terms of lifespan and efficiency will be delivered.

The Mining Museum’s archives were found to store records on which is based the world’s first-ever technique of silicate replica smelting.
