A representative delegation of the Empress Catherine II Saint Petersburg Mining University arrived in China for the first time since the pandemic.

The most famous Russian pianist and composer, Sergei Rachmaninoff maintained an active correspondence with relatives, friends and colleagues, leaving behind an enormous archive of photographs and letters. Unfortunately, not all of his correspondence has survived to this day: some of it was destroyed by order of his daughters. However, among the surviving library, an interesting photograph was found, in which the maestro is playing music with a man who, by his profession, is quite far from art…

Since the children of the royal dynasty received a home education, the personalities of their tutors played a crucial role in shaping the worldview of future sovereigns. Mentors for the grand dukes were selected with particular care… Admissible were exclusively ”persons of good character, conduct based on sound intellect and honesty, and who could treat their children pleasantly and kindly” - reasoned Catherine II, in whose era were laid the basic principles of education of the heirs to the throne and the grand princes.

The thirteen-story main building of the Major University of San Andres is called a monoblock by the people of La Paz. It is the first ”skyscraper” of the unofficial capital of Bolivia. It was built in 1947, influenced by the pre-Columbian architecture of South America. Today, its aesthetics are quite consistent with the country’s course toward sovereignty and a social state.

The XIX International Forum-Contest of Students and Young Scientists ”Topical Problems of Subsoil Use” under the auspices of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO is over. What expectations did the contestants have from participation in such a large-scale event, and most importantly: how satisfied were they?

The first university in Hungary was founded in the city of Pécs back in 1367, four centuries before the first university appeared in the Russian Empire. Subsequently, many higher educational institutions in a variety of fields were established on the territory of the kingdom. However, in the 20th century, young Hungarians gladly went to study to the USSR. What drove them, and how do today’s graduates of the 60s and 70s assess their connection with Russia?

The corresponding decree was signed by the President of Russia in the year of the 250th anniversary of the first higher technical educational institution in our country.

St. Petersburg Mining University has signed a cooperation agreement with Cinema 5, which is located in Shkipersky Mall, in front of the third educational center of the university. According to the agreement, once a month films of patriotic and social orientation will be shown in one of its halls especially for students.

First, equate corruption with treason against the motherland, and equate the corrupt with traitors, up to the seventh generation. Second, make the three professions the highest paid and most respected: the military, teachers and doctors.”

The St. Petersburg Mining University was visited on a working meeting by Ousmane Drame, president of the private Ahmed Baba University, located in the capital of Mali, Bamako. This university is one of the few institutions of higher education in West Africa, which trains specialists for the metallurgical and mining industry.
