Another one of the Summer School Programmes at the Mining University is “Innovations and Development Prospects of Mining Mechanical and Electrical Engineering”. This programme was created by the academic staff of the Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Mining Transport Machinery, Electronic Systems, Materials Science and Technology of Artistic Products.
Our students are offered both a course of lectures and practical studies. As a part of educational programme, participants get a chance to attend workshop sessions and various master classes. If you decide to participate in this programme, you will learn about modern and innovative technologies in the field of engineering, transportation of rock mass, electrical engineering and materials science, etc. During the workshops students get to use laser complexes, perform calculations for conveyors and work with specialized software.
In addition to the main program, as our student, you will be also able to visit the leading machine-building companies of Saint-Petersburg: “Mekhanobr-tekhnika”, “Laser Center”, “Kirovsky Zavod”, «Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus», «Electroapparat» and others.
As Vyacheslav Maksarov, the Dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering, says "We want the scholars to learn about new research areas. At the workshops we discuss such issues as turf extraction or transportation of loose materials. Our students have an opportunity to take a part at interactive classes and work at CNC machines".
Last summer, students from China participated in this Summer School Programme. This is what Yue Nian Xi, a student from Lanzhou Technological University, told about the programme: “It was a great opportunity for me to learn something new and in the same time improve my own knowledge. I am currently wondering if I can manage writing a thesis in partnership with the Mining University“.
If you are still unsure or want to learn more about the programme, all the information, i.e. requirements, duration, fees etc., is available here.
