St. Petersburg Mining University has signed a cooperation agreement with Cinema 5, which is located in Shkipersky Mall, in front of the third educational center of the university. According to the agreement, once a month films of patriotic and social orientation will be shown in one of its halls especially for students.
Participation in the project is exclusively voluntary - in order to attend a particular show the young people have to fill out a special form that will be posted in the institution's telegram channel two weeks before the date of the event. However, to the first show, in which viewers will see the painting "Podolsk Cadets" - one of the best modern military-historical drama, get those who have not had time to issue a request, no longer possible. All seventy free tickets were sold in just three hours.
"Higher education institutions should not only engage in educational or scientific activities, but also conduct educational work with young people, work on the patriotic and spiritual education of students. Today, when the influence of social networks, which often cultivate values alien to us, has reached unprecedented proportions among young people, it is especially relevant, "- commented Elena Filippova, head of internal and external communications of the management of the Mining University, on the new initiative.
The presentation of the project in the format of an act lecture called "The True Image of the Great Patriotic War in Soviet Cinema Art" was led by Sergey Rudnik, head of the history department of the university. In the course of his speech he showed excerpts from the movies "Liberation," "Father of a Soldier," "Check on the Road," "Hot Snow" and several others, talked about the history of their creation and the purpose of the creative teams involved in the production of these films.
It should be noted that the directorate of Cinema 5 is ready to make available not one but several halls at the disposal of the Mining University. Therefore, beginning in June, due to the great interest of students in this endeavor, the number of tickets for films of patriotic and social orientation will probably be increased.
