They will be attended by students and graduate students from Armenia, Belarus, Iran, China and new Russian regions.

On Tuesday, July 4, at the Empress Catherine II Saint Petersburg Mining University the season of summer schools - short-term educational programs, prepared especially for students from partner universities - began. Among them are the University of Shiraz (Iran), the China University of Mining and Technology, the Belarusian National Technical University and many others.

Classes are held in seven areas, such as digital mining production, modern construction materials, and oil and gas geology. They traditionally include not only lectures by Mining University professors, but also master classes by invited experts, case tournaments, practical classes on simulators and visits to real production sites.

This summer, 167 people will be guests at the St. Petersburg university. Representatives of the Chinese higher school will arrive a little later, while the rest have already arrived in the city on the Neva and started their work almost immediately. Thus, Iranian students and postgraduates, who take the course "Modern Trends in the Oil and Gas Industry", began their first day of training by mastering augmented and virtual reality technologies in the training and simulation complex for offshore oil and gas production.

"What impresses me the most is that in addition to theoretical lessons, the program also includes practical skills that will be useful to us in the future. The Mining University's facilities are at a very high level, so here we can get an idea of the real working environment. I would also like to mention the professors who supervise us - they are open to communication and full of new ideas," Shamim Mirai, a student at Shiraz University, shared her first impressions.

Iranian graduate student Ali Khalilnejad, who also came to the northern capital for the first time, says that he is "happy to participate in such a wonderful summer school. Especially since the reception was extremely welcoming.

"We know that studying at the Mining University is very prestigious. And we see that the qualifications of the teachers who work at the university are at a high level. I think that this summer school can become a kind of starting point for my further professional growth, so with pleasure I came to your city and, if there is such an opportunity, I will definitely come here next year as well", - told Ali Khalilnejad.
