Gorny IFC became one of the venues for the international educational event “Geographic Dictation-2021”. Due to sanitary and epidemiological restrictions, the number of its full-time participants this year was markedly less than before. But their geography has expanded considerably.
The first Dictation was held six years ago. Then it was held only in Russia, and now it is held in 110 countries. Its participants, for example, traditionally become astronauts working at the International Space Station, and the staff of the cosmodrome in Plesetsk. But polar explorers from the Russian Antarctic station “Progress” have never checked their knowledge of geography before. They told the audience at the congress hall about this during a video address.
As the moderator noted, the Russian Geographic Society, which traditionally acts as the organizer of the event, received over 500 interesting geographical problems, some of which were included in the final version of the test. The youngest author was 9 years old, and the oldest - 76. As in previous years, questions were voiced by celebrities. In particular, Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian President, singer Pelageya and TV host Leonid Yakubovich.
The results of Geographical Dictation will be published on December 6 on the official website dictant.rgo.ru. To find them out, it will be necessary to enter the identification number of the form or scan the QR-code. However, participants will be able to get an idea of their success as early as November 25. On this day, the correct answers to the questions will be published.
