The team of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty won in one of the most large-scale and colourful contests of the students of Mining University.
The finals of the Freshman Cup were held at the Gorny IFC. As noted by the organizers, this project is part of a program aimed at adapting young people, many of whom come from other regions to their new social environment. It brings talented young people together, helps them develop their intellectual and creative skills, and teaches them teamwork.
This year, due to the difficult sanitary and epidemiological situation, the final was held with a minimum number of viewers. However, everyone could watch it online, the broadcast was entered into the group VK.
“The Mechanical Engineering Faculty’s team prepared a terrific performance on the topic of how important it is to keep human values within oneself. So their victory is well-deserved, although other participants also showed their best side. If we talk about the Freshers’ Cup in general, it is one of the most important student events in our university. Thanks to this event, students can not only demonstrate their abilities but also find new friends,” said the organizer of the Cup, a fourth-year student of the Faculty of Economics, Elizaveta Chalaya.
Second place, by the decision of the jury, was awarded to the faculty of Mineral Processing, the third place was taken by the joint team of the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Fundamental and Humanitarian disciplines. The Freshman Cup traditionally consisted of three stages: media competition, sports, and intellectual competition.
