The results of the intellectual game “The Admiralty Connoisseurs' Tournament”, which was held in the format of an open “What? Where? When?” competition among youth and student teams, were summed up. The Mining University team received the highest award and the Grand Prix.
The intellectual quiz included three rounds: questions of the initial level (brain-ringing), the average and above the average level of complexity, as well as musical questions, in which it was necessary to guess the name of musical composition and its author.
“The basis of our victory was a positive and even a little relaxed atmosphere within the team. In the first two rounds, we got 4 points each and pulled ahead strongly. The most challenging part of the tournament for us was the music round, where we had to name a song and artist, mostly from Soviet movies. But we did it. We were able, for example, to guess the song ‘There is only an Instant, as well as the soundtracks from the TV series ‘Kadetstvo’. It gave us half of the points in the final part of the game,” shared his impressions the captain of the team, a first-year student of the Faculty of Mineral Processing Semen Voytkevich.
He also said that during the second stage the miners were the only ones who could perform the task, devoted to Oleg Dahl, who said in his speeches that he never lied to the audience. We had to clarify what the actor angered the adherents of morality when he answered “I don't know” to one of the questions of the audience. The correct answer was: “Do you have children?”
All in all, 8 teams with a total number of more than 50 people from different universities of St. Petersburg took part in the contest. The audience could also take part in the game, they answered the questions online. The winners were awarded commemorative prizes from the city government, as well as certificates from a bookstore.
