Tatiana Banikevich, who studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, won the nomination “Promising technologies, materials, equipment and systems”. Another 14 projects from St. Petersburg university were among the winners of the conference.
In Minsk, on the platform of BNTU, the 10th Forum of universities of engineering and technological profile of the Union State ended. It was attended by representatives of more than 50 institutions of higher education from Russia and Belarus. They have presented their advanced scientific developments, focused primarily on reducing the anthropogenic load on nature, as well as visited several enterprises where green technologies are implemented today.
Delegation of St. Petersburg Mining University numbered 40 people, most of them made reports at the breakout sessions and were highly appreciated by the jury of experts. For example, Daniil Balandinsky spoke about research in the field of improving the flotation process of apatite-nepheline ore concentration, and Valentina Doshchenko spoke about energy-efficient methods of constructing buildings and facilities.
Tatyana Banikevich, who eventually won the project contest, substantiated in her presentation the method of calculating the coefficient of the utility protection zone regulation to determine the cadastral value of gardening lands in the Leningrad region.
“My project makes it possible to minimize the cadastral value of objects in the construction of mineral complex enterprises and, accordingly, to reduce the taxable base,” Tatiana Banikiewicz said about the relevance of her work.
Rector of the Belarusian National Technical University Sergey Kharitonchik noted that the Forum aims at “popularization of engineering education, support of talents and creativity of interuniversity cooperation platform”. No less important aspect is the work in the field of patriotic education of young people. That is why the conference included a visit to the Khatyn memorial complex and the village of the Belarusian way of life.
Another direction is excursions to advanced enterprises and scientific institutions. For example, the BNTU Polytechnic Technopark, where scientists work on creating and implanting artificial organs: fingers, joints, and even parts of the brain.
“The hosting party has traditionally provided an extensive program: from a sightseeing tour of Minsk to visits to the plants of the partner companies. Such as BELAZ and Belaruskali. In particular, we got acquainted with the activities of the four mine directorates, went down to the active face, saw how the road headers and the mechanical roof supports worked. The lowest horizon we visited was at a depth of 580 meters,” shared her impressions Polina Ivanova, head of the Department of Educational and Methodological Support of the Educational Process at Mining University, who headed the delegation.
She noted that the forum of engineering universities of the Union State fully met the expectations of its participants - representatives of leading technical higher education institutions. The conference delegates demonstrated to their peers and experts the results of their scientific research as well as received a wealth of practical experience, which will be useful for them in the future.
As a reminder, St. Petersburg Mining University signed a cooperation agreement with BNTU in 2019. The document envisages the strengthening of further interaction between the universities to create a unified educational space. In particular, the unification of curricula, as well as the implementation of the dual degree program.
