Students of Empress Catherine II Saint Petersburg Mining University became prize-winners of the regional competition for the best organization of student self-government in St. Petersburg. They took the second place in the nomination "The best student association in a dormitory". A total of 52 teams took part in the competition.

"The management of Mining University makes a lot of efforts to create comfortable conditions for our living and self-realization. It builds new dormitories, repairs old ones, buys modern furniture. But how positive the atmosphere inside the residential buildings will be depends solely on us. We are glad that we managed to create such a favorable environment, and this result was highly appreciated by the expert committee," said Linar Mamleyev, Chairman of the Student Council of Mining University dormitories.

He specified that the activists united in the Student Council of dormitories three years ago and since then have been continuously working on "upgrading" the quality of their lives. For example, the guys have developed a whole set of rules of behavior to make everyone feel comfortable. Before that, disputable situations in each dormitory were solved in their own way. In addition, the Student Council regularly organizes different events. This helps to unite students from different cities.

We would like to remind you that in the last 10 years the university has opened six new dormitories. Each of them is built with due consideration of modern world trends. Two brand new buildings are full-fledged studio apartments with their own kitchens, restrooms, furniture, places for studying and recreation.
