At the end of January 2024, a representative delegation from Empress Catherine II Saint Petersburg Mining University spent a working week in Shiraz, the second capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran, at the invitation of Shiraz University. The administrators, scientists and young teachers studied in detail the methodology of the educational system of the country, its scientific component, visited the enterprises of Fars Province, held a number of negotiations with representatives of the university, industrialists, employees of state bodies.

The second season of the School Leader competition started at St. Petersburg Mining University. Any 11th grade student can sign an agreement of intent to participate in it. If he or she achieves the necessary threshold score in the USE, he or she will become a candidate for the right of guaranteed enrollment in the oldest higher technical school in Russia, regardless of the results of the admission campaign.

Vladimir Litvinenko, Rector of Empress Catherine II Saint Petersburg Mining University, signed an order to resume reimbursement payments for meals in the university’s canteens and cafeterias. All full-time employees, starting from January 15, will be reimbursed for lunches or breakfasts in the amount of 210 rubles daily. Thus, in case of regular visits to public catering enterprises, regardless of the training center in which they are located, employees of the oldest higher technical educational institution of Russia can expect a refund of 4 to 5 thousand rubles monthly.

Students of Empress Catherine II Saint Petersburg Mining University became prize-winners of the regional competition for the best organization of student self-government in St. Petersburg. They took the second place in the nomination ”The best student association in a dormitory”. A total of 52 teams took part in the competition.
